WA; Business must convince Libs of need for electricity reform

West Australian Premier GEOFF GALLOP has conceded his electricity reform agenda is
dead unless the business community can convince the opposition otherwise.

The Gallop government had planned to split Western Power into four separate agencies
and open the electricity market up to competition.

But the Liberal Party has indicated it is no longer prepared to negotiate on the issue
since the government had failed to maintain an essential service.
