GE Silicones Adds Silylated Polyurethane Resins.

GE Advanced Materials says its GE Silicones unit has acquired a group of silylated polyurethane resins from Witton Chemicals (Mildenhall, U.K.) Terms were not disclosed. GE says the deal complements its SPUR prepolymers product line, which are sold into the coatings, adhesives, and sealants industries. "GE acquired industry-proven materials from an industry leader to create this multi- product offering," says Ian R. Moore, general manager of GE's Silanes, Resins & Specialties. "This approach will benefit formulators by taking the guesswork out of prepolymer interactions, simplifying ordering, and supporting growth into new industries interested in lowering environmental impact of isocyanates.
