Fed: Man appears in court over death of Sydney toddler

CANBERRA, Dec 19 AAP - A man appeared in Canberra magistrates court today in connection
with the death of a two-year-old toddler at Cabramatta in western Sydney earlier this
month.

Leslie William Cooper appeared briefly for extradition proceedings and other charges
relating to Canberra offences of handling stolen property and failing to appear after
a bail undertaking.

Paul Brandy, acting for Cooper, said the extradition order would be opposed.

The case was briefly adjourned to 1130 AEDT to allow the prosecution to obtain the
full warrants from New South Wales police in Queanbeyan.

Cooper is facing charges over the death of Leo Nguyen, who died after being left in
a hot car stolen earlier from outside a shop in Cabramatta.
