Qld: Man fighting for life after assault with a pool cue

A 26-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being assaulted with a
pool cue in a Brisbane nightclub overnight.

Police say the man bumped into a woman in The Beat nightclub in the inner suburb of
Fortitude Valley after being hit over the head with a pool cue by a man nearby shortly
before midnight.

The pair then left the scene and the injured man was taken with serious head injuries
to Royal Brisbane Hospital where he was placed in intensive care.





The assailant is described as 175cm tall, of solid, muscular build and with black hair
worn in a short ponytail.

He was wearing a blue or navy shirt and black trousers.

The woman was around 157cm tall, of thin build, with long, straight, black hair and
wearing a white top and pink pants.

Both are of South-east Asian appearance.

Police have appealed for anyone knowing the whereabouts of the pair to contact Crime
Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
